On January 25th, we hosted our second Sparks Social Club event — a quiet, intentional afternoon to ease into the year with calm and connection. This time, we teamed up with Slows, Germany’s first mental health gym, for a special edition we called New Year’s Reset.
Slows is a beautiful space tucked away in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, dedicated to mindfulness, relaxation, and mental resilience. It was the perfect setting for what we had in mind: a gentle, grounding night for creatives who live fast-paced lives but are craving more stillness — and more meaning — in how they connect.
Setting the Tone
Our guests — once again a curated group of creative singles — were welcomed with homemade snacks, soft lighting, and calming teas from Kusmi Tea Paris. The vibe was cozy and slow, exactly what we wanted for a mid-winter day.
The workshop began with individual mindfulness exercises led by Slows founder, Patricia, designed to release stress and create space for self-reflection. In a world that rarely asks us to pause, the room softened as everyone tuned inward.
But connection is at the heart of everything we do, so after this quiet inward moment, we gently shifted into partner and small group exercises — inviting guests to explore active listening and shared reflection. The result was something rare: a space where people could meet not through performance, but through presence.
The Magic of Slowing Down
The energy after the workshop was unlike anything we’d seen before. In the final part of the evening, everyone came together for a relaxed get-together, reconnecting through our Candid Connections cards — this time used not to spark flirtation, but to build genuine, grounded conversation.
It was moving to see how open everyone was. People shared how refreshing it felt to connect without small talk, to take a moment for themselves, and to meet others doing the same. Many told us this was their first time trying something like this — and that they were so glad they did.
A New Kind of Reset
This event reminded us that slowing down is powerful — not just for our minds, but for our relationships, too. New Year’s Reset wasn’t just a workshop or a social; it was a gentle reminder that connection can be quiet, intentional, and deeply meaningful.
We’re so grateful to Slows and Kusmi Tea Paris for supporting this vision, and to everyone who showed up with openness and heart. Sparks is growing — and we’re excited to keep exploring new formats that blend wellbeing, creativity, and connection.
